Hope’s Home – a unique animal rehabilitation and rescue home.

WHO: Hope's Home will prove to be a success because of its leadership. Not only will our dedicated volunteers be involved, but these dogs and cats will live, with a dog behavior trainer and cat rescuer who is a dear friend and avid supporter of Pathway, and one of our founding volunteers. Bridget
Gallagher, Dog Behavior Trainer, has dedicated her life to giving a chance to unadoptable dogs and cats, and she has welcomed some of Pathway's most difficult dogs and cats into her home and family through hard work, dedication and love.
WHAT: Hope's Home is a rescue and rehabilitation home. A home for adoptable dogs and cats, but also a beacon of hope for those deemed unadoptable due to medical or behavioral needs.
WHEN: NOW! Hope's Home has begun as we secure funding and search for a property / home.
Initial steps are being made with our four founding dogs to acclimate them to their caregivers with weekly pack walks. We want their transition to be as low stress as possible! We will be transitioning
some of the dogs into foster care with our dog behavior trainer and additional training fosters prior to securing a location, as we transition to a fully foster / home based rescue.
WHERE: We are looking for a home to rent / purchase within 1..5 hours of Allentown, PA (PA or NJ). We have been working with various real estate agents (PA and NJ) and a mortgage broker. Please anyone with leads, reach out!
WHY: At A Pathway to Hope, we focus on those dogs and cats that truly need us. Our rescued dogs and cats come to us with a history of abuse and neglect, leaving them with medical and behavioral needs. It is our promise to begin the healing process the moment they step through our doors. We have learned over the past 10 years that rescued dogs and cats thrive in a home settings with
consistent, structured care and training. We have explored boarding, shelter and kennel based
environments in an effort to save more lives, but we have seen that most dogs and cats plateau in these placements, unable to make the progress needed to become adoptable. They wait months,
often years, for an adopter or foster to take them in and work individually with them - but sadly, this type of placement is extremely difficult to secure - UNTIL NOW!
HOW: Step 1: (most difficult!) Find a dedicated and experienced person to live with Pathway dogs and cats and provide daily, intensive training to prepare them for home life, as they learn what it is like to be a beloved member of a pack and a home. *Achieved!
Step 2: (easiest, with 70 million stray animals in the US alone) Find dogs and cats in desperate need of rescue, those animals that may not otherwise have a chance. *Achieved, with our 4 founding
members waiting in limbo for their new home! Please help!

Step 3: Secure funding to purchase a home and complete initial renovations. *Achieved!
Step 4: Secure a home  with a large property within 1 - 1..5 hours of Northeast NJ  *Achieved!
Step 5: Complete renovations needed. Dependent on the home we secure, the only major
renovation that we would need prior to move-in would be fencing, as our rescued animals will live within the home, which will be foster based housing. *Achieved!
Step 6: Move in and start saving more lives! *Achieved!
